First Barge Prepares To Transport Metal And Derelict Cars Out Of BVI

The first of several barges prepares to transport scraps of metal and crushed derelict cars from Pockwood Pond and Cox Heath out of the Territory. The 5,000 ton vessel began loading on September 26. The Department of Waste Management has collected 3000 derelict cars since November 1 last year and over 12,000 tons of scrap metal at the Cox Heath waste site.
