One day before being sworn in as the new Governor of the Virgin Islands, Governor Designate Mr. Augustus Jaspert and his family, arrived in the Territory to warm greetings from officials.
Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE; Leader of the Opposition, Honourable Andrew Fahie; and Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour, Dr. the Honourable Kedrick Pickering were in attendance at the Terrance B. International Lettsome airport to welcome Mr. Jaspert and his family.
Deputy Governor, Mrs. Rosalie Adams was also among the first to greet the new Governor who was accompanied by his wife Millie Jaspert and their sons, Tobias and Oscar.
Other senior officials in attendance were the Permanent Secretary (Acting) in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Carolyn Stoutt Igwe; Chief Immigration Officer, Mrs. Geraldine Ritter-Freeman and Comptroller of Customs, Mr. Wade Smith.
The Governor Designate will be sworn in as the 13th Governor of the Virgin Islands, tomorrow, August 22 at a Swearing-in and Welcome Ceremony at the Virgin Islands Supreme Court.
